4. A Loose End Bugs Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Early in season one, Xander Harris, Buffy's endearingly pathetic sidekick, catches the eye of a substitute teacher who's really a giant, sex-hormone-secreting praying mantis. Sadly, this fling is the apex of Xander's sexual competence throughout the entire series.

She mates with virginal men and kills them post-coitus, thereby sparing them either the embarrassment of losing one's virginity to a giant insect, or at least the burden of a lifelong giant insect fetish, Spider-Woman notwithstanding.

Luckily, Buffy saves the day and preserves Xander's innocence. Unluckily for Sunnydale High, the episode ends with a cache of hidden she-mantis eggs hatching in the science room!

Why It's Maddening:

We never see the creepy sex-mantises again.

Plenty of lesser shows allow minor plots to meander off into nothingness, but this is Buffy, a show notorious for never, ever letting plot threads die, no matter how mind-bendingly convoluted (see: Dawn, Buffy's magical, whiny real-not real hallucination of a sister).

So yeah, Joss Whedon, we're calling you out on this: Where the hell are our sex bugs? And while we're at it, can we have Eliza Dushku too?

We get that the episode's statutory rape subplot may not have jibed with the WB's family-friendlier fare, but this is Buffy. Every other week some vampire/demon/yeti tries to kill Buffy/enslave mankind/take Willow to a gay pride parade. In Sunnydale terms, some Mary Kay Letourneau action would register on the low end of the weird-o-meter.

BTVS Crosses Over with 'The Colbert Report'

Joss Whedon's cult hit "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" didn't end when the TV show went off the air, but rather continued its "8th Season" as a comic book. A recent storyline included a "True Blood"-esque public announcement that vampires exist, leading ditzy blonde vampire Harmony to land her own reality show called "Harmony Bites!" and do the rounds on the talk show circuit.

Harmony even visited Stephen Colbert on "The Colbert Report," in a recent two-page comic on Dark Horse Presents, where she offered to sire the satirical talk show host and referred to the wrinkles of her transformed forehead as her "Colbert bumps."

01. Who's your favorite character in 2? (True Blood)
Lafayette. He is hilarious!

02. Who's your least favorite character in 1? (Buffy)
Parker. He is a supreme douche bag.

03. What's your favorite episode of 4? (Bones)
"The Salt In the Wounds" (4.16) - The remains of a volleyball player are found in a Salt Truck. They discover that she was pregnant, and that several of her friends are also pregnant. Turns out they all have the same baby daddy. Crazy!

04. What's your favorite season of 5? (Dexter)
Season 2 was intense. I kept thinking he'd get caught. It was really suspenseful.

05. Who is your favorite ship in 3? (HIMYM)
Barney and Robin. I really think she can tame his wild ways.

As of now, I'd say Sookie/Eric because he only wants her for her ability and because Bill has her.

I started watching it after the series was over, in 2004. I got into the re-runs on FX.

I'm a huge fan of Alyson Hannigan so when I heard she was going to be on a new show, I watched it.

Hodgins because he is such a conspiracy theorist.

I’ve seen more of BtVS. Though I've seen every episode of both series, Buffy ran for seven seasons where HIMYM is only going into its 5th.

Angela because she doesn't plan ahead and just goes with the flow.

13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 1? (BtVS)
I think my favorite character (Spike, of course) died the way he should have: saving the world. I though he had a fitting death.
